DOUGLAS H. STEWART
Former Corte Madera resident
Douglas H. Stewart of Santa Rosa, a former Marin resident, died Monday, Oct. 29, 1990, in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was 73.
He was born and raised in Canada and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He became a U. S. citizen in 1961 and moved to California that year. He lived in Corte Madera for nearly 20 years until moving to Santa Rosa 10 years ago.
He worked for 30 years as an accountant for Safeway Stores Incorporated in Oakland.
Mr. Stewart was an avid golfer, playing often on courses around Sonoma County and in tournaments.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Stewart; a daughter, Sue Landon of Tacoma, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Keaton’s Redwood Chapel of Marin in Novato. Inurnment will be private.
Memorial contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
