PETER JOHN GARDINER
Peter John Gardiner of Petaluma, a former longtime resident of Mill Valley, died Monday, Aug. 29, 1988, at a Petaluma convalescent hospital after a two-year illness. He was 82.
Mr. Gardiner was born in Lincoln, Neb., and was reared and educated in Colorado. He moved from Colorado to Marin in 1945, living in Mill Valley until moving to Petaluma 13 years ago.
A carpenter for more than 25 years before his retirement, Mr. Gardiner worked throughout Marin for various contractors.
He is survived by a son, Marvin Gardiner of San Rafael; two daughters, Gloria Tillett of Petaluma and Berta Curr of Petaluma; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His wife, Cecile Gardiner, died in 1985. Another son, Wayne Gardiner, also died earlier.
At Mr. Gardiner’s request, no service will be held. Private inurnment will be in Cypress Hill Memorial Park in Petaluma.
Arrangements were handled by the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma.
