Belle M. Rhodes
Belle M. Rhodes of San Rafael, clubwoman and lodge member in Marin for many years, died Saturday at a local hospital after a short illness. She was 71.
She and her husband of more than 50 years, Roy R. Rhodes, had lived in Marin County since 1949. He is a retired railway mail service employee and is active in many organizations.
Mrs. Rhodes was born and reared in Pittsburgh, Pa. She and her husband were married in 1923 in Freedom, Pa., and lived in that state until moving to San Francisco in 1944.
Mrs. Rhodes was a member of San Rafael Chapter 215 of the Order of Eastern Star, Goldenaires, Whistlestoppers and Tamalpais Women’s Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Dotson of San Rafael; her son, Richard W. Rhodes of Lake Oswego, Ore.; her sister, Lillian Love of Florida, and five grandchildren.
At her request, no funeral is planned.
The family prefers memorial contributions to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1701 19th Avenue, San Francisco, or Hospice of Marin.
