For a long term of years Alanson and Warren Jewett, the latter a California volunteer in the Civil War, owned a considerable acreage of land between Garberville and Spruce Grove. This was disposed of some years ago and Warren Jewett invested in suburban property near Seminary Park, Alameda county, where he now lives in very feeble health at the advanced age of over 80 years.
