SARAH J. BUNDS
Funeral services for Sarah J. Bunds of San Rafael will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Monte’s Mission Chapel, San Rafael. Burial will be in Santa Clara Cemetery, Santa Clara.
Mrs. Bunds, 78, died unexpectedly Sunday in a local hospital of an illness.
Mrs. Bunds was a native of Santa Clara and had lived in Marin since 1922. She attended San Jose State University.
She served as president of the Mothers Club of the former Tamalpais School for Boys and was a member of the Marin County Humane Society, Needlework Guild of San Rafael and the Jolly Roger chapter of the Children’s Home Society, Terra Linda. Mrs. Bunds also was an enthusiastic rock gardener.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clifford C. Bunds, a retired high school science teacher; two daughters, Betty Sullivan of Oceano, San Luis Obispo County, and Margaret Swift of Sutter Creek, Amador County; a son, Clifford C. Bunds Jr. of Novato; a sister, Margaret H. Jenkins of Campbell; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
