John H. Wholley Dies At 67

Funeral for John H. Wholley of San Rafael, a retired captain in the Naval Reserve and an independent insurance broker, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Inurnment will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.

Whooley, 67, died of cancer at 32 Chestnut Avenue at his home F riday.

He joined the Naval Reserve in 1925 and retired in 1963 after service in World War II and Korea. He saw battle action in t he South Pacific during World War II.

He was a member of the Merchants Exchange Club in San Francisco.

Wholley operated his insurance business from his home.

Born in San Francisco, he lived in Greenbrae for about 18 years and in Italy for about 14 months before settling in San Rafael.

Surviving is his wife, Clara.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Fund.

The California Death Index gives his birth date, Oct. 16, 1902 in California, and his mother’s maiden name, Hagen.
