Mother of Gladys Kenney Hodgson Is Claimed by Death

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha C. Kenney were held Tuesday at 2 o’clock at the chapel of Blackburn & Sorensen, Petaluma. Inurnment was at the Chapel of the Chimes in Santa Rosa.

Mrs. Kenney died at Petaluma Sunday morning after an illness that had kept her in the hospital several weeks. With her when the end came was her daughter, Mrs. Gladys Kenney Hodgson of Ross, head of the Gladys Kenney School of the Dance.

Born in St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Kenney was 65 years of age. She had resided in California many years and much of the time in Sonoma County. Her husband was the late Prof. James Kenney.

The couple came to Petaluma from Santa Rosa and established a dancing school.

Mrs. Kenney is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Anna Zwiersch, of San Jose; her daughter, Mrs. Hodgson; a son, Lester; three grandchildren, Marcia Ann Hodgson of Ross; Patricia and Georgia Kenney, and three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Peterson of Petaluma; Mrs. Ada Tonkin, Miss Marie Zwiersch of San Jose and Mrs. Ollie Hornbuckle of Menlo Park.
