Martha L. Hicks, Summoned Friday

Funeral service for Mrs. Martha L. Hicks of Fairfax, who passed away suddenly Friday morning at 2 o’clock, following an acute heart attack, will be held from the home Monday forenoon, under the direction of the Keaton Mortuary, San Rafael, followed by interment in the National Cemetery Presidio, where he late husband, Charles Hicks, is buried.

Mrs. Hicks, who was a member of John H. Harris Camp Auxiliary, Spanish War Veterans, was 60 years of age, a native of Louisville, Ky.

She came west in 1904 and was married while her husband was at Fort Baker.

Mrs. Hicks was most active in the Fairfax Women’s Club and was also a member of the Dorcas Society.

She leaves four sons to mourn her sudden passing: Leonard, who is at Mare Island; Arthur, a N.W.P. employee, and John Hicks, a member of the staff of the San Anselmo sanitary district, and Kenneth Hicks, Fairfax fire chief.
