Death Ends Career of Cary W. Cook
In St. Paul’s Episcopal Church here Monday morning impressive funeral services were held for Cary Wilson Cook, 74, widely known in the shipping world, who died at his Golf Tract home in San Rafael on Friday night. His death ended a long period of ill health.
Cook was a native of San Francisco. During his active life he was an executive with the American-Hawaiian Steamship Company, the Pacific Mail Company and the William Diamond Company. He served on the U. S. Shipping Board and during the World War was assistant director of operation for the shipping board in Washington. He recently retired from his business. He has been a resident of San Rafael for the past 26 years.
Surviving the late shipping man are his widow, Mrs. Henrietta L. Cook, a daughter, Lucy E. Cook, a sister, Miss May L. Cook, and a brother, Frank E. Cook. Inurnment took place at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland.
