MARGUERITE E. SANTOS
A private family funeral service for Marguerite E. Santos, 79, of San Rafael, was held Saturday at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
Mrs. Santos, wife of Joseph Santos, died Friday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
She and her husband owned and operated a service station in Mill Valley from 1923 to 1936. They established the El Camino motel in 1936 and operated it for 18 years. Mrs. Santos, who was born in Healdsburg, moved from Sebastopol to Mill Valley in 1923.
She was a member of Woodwardia Circle. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Frederick J. Santos of Sebastopol and a granddaughter.
Entombment was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.

The CA Death Index says Marguerite Elizabeth Santos was born in California on July 6, 1899.
