EARL L. C. SOBEL

A memorial service for Earl Leon Cohel Sobel of Terra Linda was scheduled for today at 2:30 p.m. at Congregation Rodel Sholom in San Rafael. Mr. Sobel died unexpectedly Dec. 13, 1988, at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda. He was 64.

Mr. Sobel was born and raised in San Francisco and had lived in Terra Linda for more than 30 years.

He graduated from Golden Gate College with a degree in accounting.

Mr. Sobel was a certified public accountant and had his own business for 32 years, first in San Francisco, then in Marin.

He served in the Army during World War II and saw duty in Japan as a lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He worked with the Community Services District that provided public services before Terra Linda was annexed to San Rafael.

Mr. Sobel was a member of Congregation Rodef Sholom in San Rafael for 30 years and a member of the California C.P.A. Society. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Mr. Sobel is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joanne Sobel of Terra Linda; two sons, David Sobel of Bolinas and Capt. Daniel Sobel of Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Sylvera Sobel of San Francisco; a sister, Norita Robbins of Seattle; and two brothers, Carlyle Sobel and Robert Sobel, both of San Francisco.

His family asked that memorial contributions go to the Boy Scouts or the Heart Association.
