ELVIRA THOMPSON
San Rafael resident

Elvira Thompson, a 16-year resident of Marin, died at home in Terra Linda following a long illness.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Kansas City and was educated at the University of Missouri. She was a training officer for Pacific Telephone before her retirement.

She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael and t he Newcomers Club of Marin. She was an avid collector of British royalty artifacts.

She also lived in London, Paris, Caracas, Abidjan and San Francisco.

She died July 15.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David Thompson of Terra Linda; four brothers, Tom Ibarra of Terra Linda and Gus, Arthur and Robert Ibarra, all of Kansas City; and 27 nephews and nieces.

Friends and acquaintances are invited to a memorial celebration of her life July 30. Those interested should call Pam Rettig at 461-2763.

The family asks that no flowers be sent. Donations may be sent to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Ave., Corte Madera 94925; or Guide Dogs for the Blind, 350 Los Ranchitos Road, San Rafael 94903.
