Ruth A. Hamilton
A private funeral for Ruth A. Hamilton, a longtime Petaluma resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma.
Mrs. Hamilton, 79, died Saturday at a local hospital after a short illness.
A native of Benson, Ill. Mrs. Hamilton lived in Indiana and Texas before settling in Petaluma in 1919.
She had worked a short time as a dental assistant and was a home maker. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Petaluma.
She is survived by her husband, James Hamilton of Petaluma, two brothers, Edwin Kendig of Bakersfield and Leslie Pendig (sic) of Petaluma; and three sisters, Mrs. Harry Thompson, Mrs. Ralph Pitney and Mrs. John Cook, all of Bakersfield.
Burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefers contributions to the American Cancer Society, Sonoma County unit, 811 College Ave., Santa Rosa, 95404 or to the First Baptist Church, 705 N. Webster St., Petaluma, 94952.
