JAY HERSHMAN
Jay Hershman, a Bolinas poet, was found dead Sunday at a relative’s home in Novato. He was 40.
Mr. Hershman was born in New York and came to California in the mid 1960s, living in Marin and the East Bay. In 1980, he moved to Bolinas.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and won a medal for his service in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Finnigan of Bolinas, a son and a daughter.
The family has planned a private service on a hilltop in Novato.
