JULIUS B. SNYDER
Julius B. Snyder, a three-year Petaluma resident, died Sunday at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 81.
Snyder was born and reared in Aspen, Colo., and had also lived in Salt Lake City before moving to California 56 years ago.
Snyder settled in San Jose in 1955 and had worked 27 years at the Ford Motor Co. Assembly plant in Milpitas. He retired 14 years ago.
Snyder was a member of the Alum Methodist church of San Jose, the United Auto Workers Union, Modern Woodmen of America and Independent Order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Snyder of Petaluma; four stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., Mickey Van Sickle of Pocatello, Idaho, Kathy Calio of Campbell and Betty Thome of Mission Viejo; two stepsons, Bob Huckabay of Mineral Wells, Texas and Jim Huckabay of Loredo, Texas; a sister, Alberta Robertson of San Rafael; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1900 Petaluma Boulevard North, Petaluma.
Private inurnment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
