Death Calls For Well Known Man

Funeral services were held last Monday for Frederick W. Spencer, for several years a prominent business man of San Rafael, and who had been a patient sufferer for two decades from illness.

The deceased was proprietor of the F. W. Spencer Music Store on Fourth street, which, despite his illness, he managed efficiently for so many years. For some time past he had been unable to attend to the business personally, and it has been under the management of Lee Duncan.

Mr. Spencer was a native of the Hawaiian Islands, and early in his life he was sent to Boston to be educated in music. Coming to San Francisco when a young man he gained the reputation of being the leading piano tuner on the Pacific Coast.

He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Nina Spencer, and a daughter, Mrs. R. F. Sandles. Two sisters also survive him, Mrs. James N. Gowey and Mrs. Dennis Spencer, of Napa.

The services were held in the F. R. Sawyer Parlors and interment was made in Oakland.
