Funeral Services For Overseas Soldier

The funeral of Harry F. Heine, hero of the world war, were held Sunday with services at the home of Miss M. L. Lucas, 160 Palm avenue.

Heine was well known in San Francisco art circles, having done much of the decorative work on the Exposition buildings in 1915. He enlisted in the Grizzlies and went to France with the regiment. Transferred to the 321st Field Artillery, which saw service in the Argonne-Meuse sector, he was wounded just before the signing of the armistice, and died a few days later, on November 20, 1918. The remains reached San Francisco last Saturday and were brought to San Rafael at the request of Miss Carmelito Cadogan. The funeral arrangements were made by the Eden Undertaking Parlors of C street.

Heine was a native of Belgium and came to San Francisco about 12 years ago. He was 36 years of age. Father Carroll, of St. Raphael’s Church, preached the funeral sermon.

The pallbearers, all members of the Grizzlies, were J. McCullough, George Dewey, Culverwell, Joe Ebner, Frank Conlan, R. C. Tichnor, C. C. Tichnor, John Callahan, John Ryan and Peter J. McCarthy, the latter two of San Rafael.
