JOSEPH F. HOLMES
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley for Joseph F. Holmes of Mill Valley.
Mr. Holmes died Saturday, Aug. 27, 1988, at Marin General Hospital following emergency surgery. He was 66.
Mr. Holmes was a native of Eureka and lived in Mill Valley since 1965. He worked for 18 years as a sales representative for Marier Engraving Co. of San Francisco.
He previously lived in San Francisco and in Woodland, During World War II, he was a merchant marine.
Mr. Holmes and his wife of 23 years, Donna G. Holmes of Mill Valley, enjoyed traveling. They were once members of the League to Save Lake Tahoe.
Mr. Holmes was the first president of the Northridge Homeowners Association in Mill Valley.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife, Donna; three daughters, Michaele Lyn Corse of Carson City, Nev., Candace Seibert of Smith Valley, Nev., and Barbara Ann Blake of Lafayette; a sister, Margaret Blickle of Woodland, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Private burial will be at Fernwood Cemetery in Mill Valley.
The family prefers memorial gifts to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Ave., Corte Madera, 94965, or to a favorite charity.
