A graveside funeral service for Johnnie O. Howe, 52, and his daughter, Mary L. Howe, 14, was held today in Petaluma.

Howe and his daughter died Wednesday in an explosion in Cotati.

Howe was born in Arkansas and had lived many years in Petaluma, Santa Rosa and Cotati. He had worked more than 30 years in construction explosives.

Miss Howe was born in Sonoma. She had been a student at Kenilworth Junior High School, Petaluma.

They are survived by their wife and mother, Minnie Howe of Cotati; a son and brother, Johnnie Roy Howe of Cotati; two daughters and sisters, Martha Howe of Penngrove and Ruby E. Howe of Oregon.

Howe is also survived by five sisters,, Rhoda Cummins of Oklahoma, Josie Talley of Arkansas, Ruby Johnson and Ona Hembree of Missouri and Hatie Brown of Kansas.

Miss Howe is also survived by a grandfather, A. M. Galldro of Exparta, Ca.

Burial was at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
