Marie L. Swall, 97, Dies
Services Held
Private family funeral for Marie L. Swall of Kentfield was held today in San Anselmo.
She died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long illness. She was 97.
Mrs. Swall was born in Richterswill, Switzerland, and came to the Bay Area with her parents when she was 12 years old. She had been a homemaker all of her adult life.
Her husband, the late Oscar Swall, had been in business in San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland and owned the Oakland Transfer Co. at the time of the earthquake in 1906.
Mrs. Swall made her home at 77 Estelle Avenue for the past 39 years.
She is survived by two sons, Oscar Swall Jr. of Kentfield and Norman Swall of San Francisco; two daughters, Virginia Swall of Kentfield and Mrs. Ada Boe of Marinwood; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Inurnment was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the mother of the late Scott Alfred Swall.
