THEODORE KURKOV

Theodore “Ted” V. Kurkov of San Rafael, a student at College of Marin, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 1990, in an airplane crash in Lake County. He was 19.
Mr. Kurkov was born and reared in Marin County. He graduated with honors from San Rafael High School in 1989. He played on the junior varsity football team.
He went on to complete his freshman year at California Polytechnic Institute at Pomona as an aeronautical engineering major with a high scholastic average.
Mr. Kurkov was enrolled at College of Marin before starting aviation studies at San Jose State University. He was a single engine pilot and wanted to become a commercial pilot.
He is survived by his parents, Sara and Victor Kurkov of San Rafael; a brother, Paul Kurkov of Los Angeles; and his grandmother, Eugenia Kurkov of San Rafael.
A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Marin Covenant Church, 195 North Redwood Drive, San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to St. Anthony’s Dining Room or a favorite charity.
