John Stephen Lasater

A memorial Mass for John Stephen Lasater of Beverly Hills, a former resident of Marin, will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax. Mr. Lasater died of cancer Monday, Nov. 14, 1988, in Los Angeles. He was 37.

Mr. Lasater was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin. He graduated from St. Rita School and Marin Catholic High School. He studied hotel and restaurant management at the University of Denver.

Mr. Lasater was the regional sales manager for Westin Resorts Hawaii.

He enjoyed skiing and travel.

He is survived by his mother, June Lasater of San Anselmo; a brother, Michael Lasater of Poway, San Diego County; and a niece, Ashley Lasater of Poway. His father, Emerson Lasater, a retired manager of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, died 11 years ago.

His family asked that memorial contributions go to St. Rita’s Endowment Fund or American Cancer Society.
