Patricia T. Schweitzer
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael for Patricia Taft Schweitzer, a longtime San Rafael resident and community volunteer.
Mrs. Schweitzer died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 17, 1987, at her home.
She was born and raised in Detroit, Mich., and moved to San Rafael in 1962.
She was a charter member of the Peacock Gap branch of Marin General Hospital Volunteers and was a former president of the Peacock Gap Garden Club.
Mrs. Schweitzer enjoyed music and had been a big band singer in her youth in Michigan. In Marin she sang at private parties.
Survivors are her husband of 38 years, Donald L. Schweitzer; two sons, Gary R. Schweitzer of San Rafael and Greg L. Schweitzer of Larkspur; a daughter, Karen S. Love of Martinez; and a sister, Barbara T. Lewthwaite of Bradenton, Fla.
Inurnment was private.
The family has asked that donations in her memory be sent to Peacock Branch, Marin General Hospital Volunteers, in care of Mrs. Robert Tough, 183 Knollwood Drive, San Rafael, 94901.
