BERTIE S. ORR

Bertie S. Orr, 88, a resident of Santa Venetia during World War II, died in a Napa rest home yesterday after a five-year illness.

Orr and his wife Alda, now deceased, lived in Marin from 1942 to 1947 when he worked at Marinship. Before that he worked as an auctioneer from 1918 to 1942 in San Francisco. He moved to Vallejo when he retired in 1947. He was a native of Iowa.

Surviving are two sons, Ivan B. Orr of Santa Rosa and Leonard L. Orr of Suisun City, Solano County, three daughters, Mrs. Christine Foushee of Napa, Mrs. Imogene LaPort of Washington and Mrs. Irene Ford of Newman, a sister, Mrs. Nettie B. Running of Vallejo and a brother, Leroy Orr of Arkansas.

Funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
