Ella D. Toomey Of Fairfax Dies

Ella D. Toomey, 38-year-Fairfax resident, died yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness.

A native of San Francisco, Miss Toomey moved to Marin 38 years ago. She was a file clerk for the Baker-Hamilton-Pacific Co., San Francisco, a hardware firm, until her retirement two years ago.

Miss Toomey made her home at 156 Scenic road in Fairfax, with two sisters, Mary Toomey and Mrs. Catherine Sobey, and two brothers, John and Benjamin Toomey.

She is also survived by another brother and sister, George Toomey of San Francisco and Mrs. Alice Muller of Fairfax; two nieces, a nephew and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Requiem High Mass is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 o’clock tonight at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Toomey; sister of the late William Toomey; aunt of Loretto Ritchie, Audrey Piznal, George Muller and the late Melvin Toomey; great aunt of Edward and Patricia Ritchie, Georgie, Steven and Michael Muller, Lynn Ann, Mark and Michele Piznal, Dennis and Michael Toomey.

The CA Death Index gives her birth date as March 9, 1890, her mother’s maiden name as Carmody, and her middle name as Dorothy.
