ALFRED ‘CHAN’ HUNT
Career in real estate
Alfred Chantler “Chan” Hunt of Sausalito died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 17, 1990, in Woodside. He was 65.
He was born in Lake Forest, Ill., and as the son of a rear admiral in the Navy traveled a great deal in his youth. He graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Washington and served aboard a hospital ship with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Hunt was an executive in the music publishing business for many years, and for the past 20 years worked in the real estate industry with Polly McNaught Real Estate in Sausalito.
He was a member of the Marin County Board of Realtors and a supporter of Greenpeace. An avid runner, he ran daily on the trails of Mount Tamalpais. He also played tennis frequently. He was a season-ticket holder with the San Francisco Symphony.
He is survived by a brother, Daniel Hunt of Annapolis, Md.; two nieces; and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at the Muir Woods Park Improvement Association clubhouse, 40 Ridge Ave., Mill Valley, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Neptune Society is handling the arrangements. His remains will be scattered at sea.
