FREDERICK LARKINS
Retired union official

Frederick Larkins, a retired union official, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 1990, at The Redwoods retirement complex. He was 81.

He was born in San Francisco. Mr. Larkins moved to Mill Valley in 1935 and lived in recent years at The Redwoods.

He worked for many years as the secretary treasurer of the Automotive Teamsters Union Local 241 in San Francisco.

Mr. Larkins was former president of the resident council at The Redwoods. He also was a member of Sons in Retirement, Chapter 7, the Marin Chapter of the California Woodcarvers and the San Francisco Giants Booster Club.

He loved animals and was an avid golfer.

Mr. Larkins is survived by his close companion, Kathleen Mumma; a son, Skip Larkins of Mill Valley; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

His wife of 54 years, Vivian Larkins, died in 1982.

Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at The Redwoods retirement center.

Inurnment will be private.

The family prefers memorial gifts to the Marin Humane Society or a favorite charity.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the father-in-law of Shirley Larkins, father of Frederick B. Larkins, grandfather of Diane O’Hara and Ronald O’Hara of Mill Valley, James Larkins and Laura Larkins of Albuquerque, N.M., and great-grandfather of Gregory O’Hara of Mill Valley.
