HARRY THOMAS Jr.
PG&E employee
Harry A. Thomas Jr., a Marin resident for 47 years, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1993, after a long battle with cancer. He was 70.
Mr. Thomas began his 36-year career working with PG&E crews and later as an auto parts clerk for the utility’s garage in San Rafael.
He had lived in Novato for the past 20 years.
Mr. Thomas was a native of New York. He was raised in New Jersey.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific.
He had recently been serving as a member of the board of directors with the Marin Historical Society.
He was active in the Sons In Retirement Branch No. 22 in San Rafael, serving as the organization’s secretary.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Thomas of Novato; three sons, Harry Thomas of Novato, David Thomas of Citrus Heights, and Mark Thomas of Rohnert Park; a sister, Joyce Beurerlein of Phoenix, Ariz., and five grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Keaton’s Redwood Chapel of Marin in Novato. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at the mortuary.
The Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Novato.
Burial will follow in Valley Memorial Park, Novato.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
