RESTEL O. SCOTT
Restel O. Scott, a 27-year resident of San Rafael, died yesterday at a local hospital. He was 82.
Scott was born in Bethel, Conn., but from 1926 to 1949 he lived in China, where he was a funeral director. He and his wife, Mary, spent two years in a concentration camp during World War II.
Scott moved to San Rafael in 1949 and had been with the Greenbrae Co., a real estate and building firm since 1951.
He was a life member of the Rotary Club of San Rafael, Free and Accepted Masons, Nile and Islam Shrine, National Funeral Directors Association, and the American Legion.
Scott is survived by his wife, Mary of San Rafael; three daughters, Amelita Horton of Van Nuys, Alvarita Parnow of San Rafael, and Mary Elizabeth Lovie of Dover, Del.; a son, Robert W. Gunn of Hawaii; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael, with private burial at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.
