LEONORE BLACK SMITH
Former teacher

Lenore Black Smith of Mill Valley died Monday, Jan. 29, 1990, at the Marin Terrace convalescent hospital.

She was 91.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Winchester, Tenn.

She moved to California with her family as a child, living first in the San Joaquin Valley and then in Southern California.

Mrs. Smith moved to Sausalito about 40 years ago.

She worked as a teacher at Lowell High School in San Francisco, retiring in 1956.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Sausalito Women’s Club and Christ Episcopal Church in Sausalito, as well as the Marin Art and Garden Center.

Survivors include her husband, James Wightman Smith of Mill Valley; and a sister, Elizabeth Arnold of San Francisco.

At her request, no services were planned.
