FRANK J. SMITH SR.
Private family services were held today for Frank J. Smith Sr., 85, of Mill Valley, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Mill Valley.
He died Sunday at a local retirement home.
A native of San Francisco, he had been a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 45 years.
He is survived by a son, Frank J. Smith Jr. of Roseville, Minn.; two daughters, Alice R. Schoenstein of Anchorage, Alaska, and Patricia Sweeney of San Francisco; and nine grandchildren.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. The family prefers memorial gifts to Saint Anthony’ Dining Room, San Francisco.
