GERALD E. ROBINSON

Retired Army Col. Gerald E. Robinson, a highly decorated veteran and former deputy commander of the Presidio of San Francisco, died yesterday at his Greenbrae home after a long illness. He was 58.

Robinson retired two years ago after a 32-year military career. He last was stationed at the Presidio for four years, two of those years as deputy commander.

He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. Robinson was awarded the Legion of Merit four times and the Bronze Star ___(illegible)___

He held degrees from the University of Maryland and Golden Gate University.

Robinson had lived in Marin since his retirement. He was a native of San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Dolores of Greenbrae; three children, Ann, Gerald and Virginia Robinson, all of Greenbrae, and two brothers, William Robinson of Rio Vista and Joseph Robinson of Isleton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at the Chapel of Our Lady on the Presidio. Robinson will be buried with full military honors in the Presidio cemetery.

Rosary will be recited tomorrow at 8 p.m. at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to Hospice of Marin, P. O. Box 72, Kentfield 94904.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was survived by his brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Campos of San Francisco.
