JOSEPH C. NOWELL III
A memorial service for Joseph Cornell Nowell III of San Rafael, a Marin resident for four years, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Mill Valley Community Church.
Nowell died Thursday at a local hospital following a brief illness. He was 53.
Nowell was a native of Boston and obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He worked at the institute and later at Raytheon in Massachussetts. He was a vice president of General Research Corp. in Santa Barbara for 10 years and most recently was a vice president at Flow Resources Corp. in San Rafael.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie, of San Rafael; a sister, Ann Kramer of Boston; two daughters, Lisa Nowell of Davis and Katherine Nowell of Berkeley; and three stepsons, Jeffrey, John and James Fox, all of San Rafael.
The family prefers memorial donations be made to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, Suite 6, San Rafael, or the American Cancer Society.
