LUCILE JARVIS
The funeral service for Lucile Jarvis, 71, of Walnut Creek, mother of Leo A. Jarvis of San Rafael, was held Wednesday at Walnut Creek Church.
Mrs. Jarvis, widow of Alex Jarvis, died Dec. 28 after an illness while visiting South Lake Tahoe.
She had worked as a library clerk in Walnut Creek elementary schools for 15 years until her retirement in 1974.
She was a native of Eureka, Utah, and had been a resident of Walnut Creek since 1942.
Mrs. Jarvis was a member of the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church and of the church’s board of deacons, the Presbyterian Voyagers Club, Korean Missionary Prayer Group, Rossmoor Duplicate Bridge Club, Rossmoor Federated Womens Club and Republican Women of Rossmoor.
Surviving besides her son in San Rafael, are another son, the Rev. Andrew A. Jarvis of Walla Walla, Wash.; a daughter, Irene Crichton of Eureka, Calif.; two sisters, Florence Hansen of San Leandro and Stella Molyneux of Utah; and eight grandchildren.
Burial was at Lafayette District Cemetery, Lafayette. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Lucile Jarvis Memorial Fund, in care of the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, 17 Oakland Blvd., Walnut Creek, Calif. 94596.
