ELMIRA LEVERONI
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elmira G. Leveroni, a longtime Sonoma resident, will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Solano Church, Sonoma.
Mrs. Leveroni died Sunday at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 87.
A native of San Francisco, Mrs. Leveroni was reared in Los Banos and later moved with her family to El Verano.
She and her late husband, Victor, founded the family dairy ranch on Leveroni Road more than 60 years ago. It remains a family operation.
Mrs. Leveroni was a member of the Sonoma Valley Women’s Club, Sonoma Valley Hospital Auxiliary and Sonoma Valley Historical Society. She was also a 65-year member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.
She is survived by two sons, Robert and Lloyd Leveroni of Sonoma; a daughter, June Davila of Wausau, Wis.; two sisters, Lucy Keechler of Sonoma and Norma Ortman of Paradise; a brother, Roy Hansen of Sebastopol; and three grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the Bates, Evans and Fehrensen Funeral Home, Sonoma. Burial will be at Mountain Cemetery, Sonoma.
Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Sonoma Valley Hospital.
