VERNON GUSTAFSSON
No services will be held for Vernon C. Gustafsson of Mill Valley.
Gustafsson, 64, died at home Saturday.
He was born in Lake Forest, Ill. He came to California in 1939 and lived in Marin County for 29 years.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for 30 years as an underwriter for the Royal Globe Insurance Co. in San Francisco. In 1971, he went to work as a waterfront security guard for the American Patrol Service and retired in 1976.
He was a member of the Mill Valley Lodge No 356 Free and Accepted Masons and the Mill Valley chapter No. 219 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also active on the advisory council of Mill Valley chapter of DeMolay.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Gustafsson of Mill Valley, and a daughter, Christie Gustafsson, his mother, Flora Gustafsson, and two sisters, Fredrika Perry and Charlotte Hegemeyer, all of Tucson, Ariz.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the Mill Valley Lodge of the Masons.
