RALPH ELLIS
Private services are planned for Ralph Ellis, a lifelong resident of San Rafael.
Ellis, 71, died Monday in a local hospital after a long illness.
Before retiring, Ellis worked as a mechanic at Duffy’s Garage in San Rafael, the job he held his entire working career.
He is survived by his wife Louise; a daughter, Barbara Byars of Nevada City, and a brother, Lewis Ellis of San Diego.

ELLIS – In San Rafael, Jan. 14, 1980, Ralph R. Ellis, beloved husband of Louise Ellis; adored father of Barbara Ellis Byars; loving brother of Louis Ellis; son of the late mayor of San Rafael and Mrs. Richard J. Ellis; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of San Francisco, Calif., aged 71 years.
Private family services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, 1980, at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. Interment, Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
