HAZEL B. MURRAY
Graveside services for Hazel B. Murray (nee Burnette) 91, formerly of Greenbrae, Calif., will be held at 11 a.m. today, at St. Joseph Cemetery, Prairie de Rocher, Ill.
Born May 27, 1908, in Leesville, Va., she died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at ManorCare in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Murray was a professor at the University of Maryland where she taught home economics. Hazel worked at the Department of Agriculture Beltsville Research Station and carried out some of the pioneering research on frozen foods. She was secretary of the Marin Art and Garden Society in Marin County, Calif.
Survivors include her son, Richard C. (Linda) Murray of Palatine; grandchildren, Catherine Michelle Murray of Palatine and Michael R. Murray of Palatine; brother, Mahlon A. II (Alda) Burnette of Leesville; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Burnette of Amelia Courthouse, Va., Constance Dorsey of Crestwood, Mo. and K. Patricia (Theodore) Pasquesi of Lake Bluff; and brother-in-law, Sir John Ford of London, England. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Murray; and son, J. Michael Murray.
Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, Palatine .
