DAVID D. HOLADAY
Private services will be held on Friday for Dr. David D. Holaday, a resident of Novato and former medical director for the state of Hawaii.
Holaday, 70, died Wednesday in a local hospital following a long illness.
A native of Kansas, Holaday was a resident of Marin County several times in the last 30 years.
He formerly worked for the American Can Co. for 20 years and had reached the position of medical director.
After retiring in 1961, Holaday served briefly as the health officer for Santa Clara County and later held the top state medical post in Hawaii.
He was the past president of the Lung Association of the Redwood Empire and a member of the Bohemian Club of San Francisco.
Holaday is survived by his daughter, June Linford of Novato; a son, Duncan Holaday of Santa Clara; and one sister, Margaret Straub of Holtville, Imperial County.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Lung Association of the Redwood Empire.
