Virginia Sclippa

A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Sclippa of Mill Valley will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Mill Valley.

Mrs. Sclippa, 86, died at home Thursday after a long illness.

A native of Giovanni Di Casarsa, Italy, she came to San Francisco about 56 years ago. She lived there until moving to Mill Valley about 10 years ago to be with her daughter, Olga I. Tupper.

She had worked for a chocolate company in San Francisco for about 15 years as well as a canning company for about eight years.

Her husband, Albert Sclippa, had worked for a steel company in the East Bay. He died 23 years ago.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Sclippa is survived by a son, Rino Sclippa of Castro Valley; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley.

Rosary will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel and visitation also will be held at the chapel after 10 a.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Italian Cemetery, Colma.
