MILDRED WATTERWORTH
Mildred Ada Watterworth, a watercolorist and member of an early-day Ross family, died Monday in San Francisco after a short illness. She was 74.
Mrs. Watterworth was born in San Francisco and reared in Ross, attending the San Rafael Academy which later became the Katharine Branson School for Girls.
She was the granddaughter of Harry S. Scott, the first mayor of Ross.
She studied art with Rudolph Schaefer at the California School of Fine Arts.
Mrs. Watterworth exhibited, taught and judged art shows throughout the state. She was a charter member of the Society of Western Artists and in 1974 was named a fellow of that society.
She is survived by a son, Scott Watterworth of Mill Valley; a sister, Gladys Wise of San Francisco; a half-brother, Harry H. Scott of San Rafael; and a half-sister, Barbra Demarest of Woodenville, Wash.
No service is planned. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Arden Wood Benevolent Association of San Francisco.
