RICHARD F. HERBERT
The funeral for Richard F. Herbert, a retired auto mechanic for the state, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael.
Herbert, 59, of San Rafael, died Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness.
He had worked at the state garage in San Francisco and had retired one month ago after 26 years of service.
He was a member of chapter 149, California State Employees Association, and served in the Army in France during World War II.
He was born in San Francisco and had been a resident of Marin for about 25 years, living in Mill Valley and Terra Linda.
Surviving are his wife, Adaline (Addie) Herbert of San Rafael; three sons, Kenneth Herbert of Chicago, and Stephen and David Herbert, both of Lake Tahoe; three step-daughters, Diane Parente of Ross, Doris Tilson of San Rafael, and Snookie Dennis of Novato; his parents, George and Irene Herbert of Sonoma; a brother, George Herbert of Sonoma; and five grandchildren.
Private inurnment will be at Bahia Valley Memorial Park, Novato.
