Sister Vincent Marie

Sister Vincent Marie Hurley, 48, former superior of the convent at St. Vincent’s School for Boys, Marinwood, died Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness.

Sister Vincent Marie was assigned to the convent at St. Vincent’s School for Boys in 1963 and was supervisor at several of the houses until 1973 when she was appointed supervisor of the convent.

She served as supervisor, assisting the administrative and school offices until last August when she stepped down because of illness.

She was a native of San Francisco.

She was a member of Dominican Sisters, Mission San Jose.

Surviving her are three brothers, John and James Hurley of Burlingame and Vincent Hurley of San Mateo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent’s Chapel, St. Vincent’s School for Boys, Marinwood. Burial will be at the Mission San Jose Mother House Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent’s Chapel. The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to St. Vincent’s School for Boys, Marinwood.
