Thompson, 81, died Monday at home after a long illness.
A native of Washington state, he came to Marin in 1917. He worked as an agent and driver for Railway Express for 44 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Marilyn L. White of Omaha, Neb., and Ruby Thompson of San Rafael; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the funeral chapel for visitation. The family prefers memorial gifts to a favorite charity.
