JOHN H. DANA

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Corte Madera for John H. Dana of San Anselmo, a founding member of the Marin County Board of Realtors.

Mr. Dana, who was 81, died Sunday at Kentfield Medical Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., to a family whose ancestors were early New England colonists.

Mr. Dana moved to Marin County in 1936. He was an independent real estate broker.

He was a member of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church.

Mr. Dana and his wife, Helen, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Carroll Dana of Mill Valley, Diane Dana of San Francisco and Pamela Hazelton of Kauai, Hawaii; a sister, Margaret Bower of San Jose; a brother, Lorrie Douglas of Troy, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may visit after 6 p.m. today at the Daphne Funeral Marin, 601 Tamalpais Drive, Corte Madera.

Burial will be in Olema Cemetery. The family prefers memorial contributions to St. Anthony’s Dining Room, San Francisco.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was a special grandfather to Michael Leach of San Anselmo, Naomi Hazelton and Dana Mari Hazelton of Hawaii. His wife was Helen M. Dana; his brother was Lorrie N. Douglas and sister was Margaret E. Bower.
