GEORGE I. BRUCE
A funeral for George I. Bruce of Los Molinas, Tehama County, a former longtime resident of Marin, will be held at Hall Brothers Mortuary, Corning, at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Bruce, 51, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Red Bluff after an illness.
He had been a central office equipment worker for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. for 32 years.
He was a native of Oakland, who had lived in Marin for more than 40 years before moving to Los Molinas about five years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy; two stepsons, James Detels of Tracy, San Joaquin County, and Timothy Detels of Fremont; a stepdaughter, Marie Schaefer of Santa Rosa; his mother, Aline Bruce of Fairfax; three sisters, Aline Seewester of Vacaville, Elizabeth Caughie of Fairfax and Frances Trimble of Petaluma; two brothers, Robert Bruce of San Rafael and Joseph Bruce of Fairfax; and five grandchildren.
His ashes will be scattered at sea. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
