Lieut. Douglas Smith Dies as Result Of Blood Poisoning
Lieut. Douglas Smith, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith of Mill Valley, died last Thursday as a result of blood poisoning which resulted from an infected finger. Lt. Smith was attached to the Air Corps at March Field as adjutant of the 24th Squadron.
He married Miss Rosemary Clark of Hollywood last year and was to leave in August for the east to be stationed at Champlain Field.
Smith was born in Mill Valley. He graduated from Tamalpais High School. He trained for aviation at Randolph and Kelly Fields. He was the brother of Miss Enid Smith and Mrs. Walter Tobiner of Washington, D.C. and Collier Smith of Mill Valley.
