ETHEL WILLIAMSON
Ethel Hartzell Williamson, who had been honored for her service to Sonoma State University, died Monday at a local hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs.Williamson, 82, had lived in Sonoma for 40 years.
She was a longtime member and past chairman of the Sonoma State University Advisory Council. President Peter Diamandopoulos had accorded her the title of Sonoma State “Mentor” in recognition of her service.
Mrs. Williamson also was chairman of the board of St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco, served on the advisory committee to the Valley Moon Boys and Girls Club and was an active member of the American Society of the Order of St. John.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, she was the wife of Thomas B. Williamson, a retired Navy admiral.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Sonoma. Inurnment was private.
