WORTH DONOVAN

Worth Donovan of San Rafael, a Marin resident for about 10 months, died Monday in a local hospital. He was 78.

Donovan was a native of New Zealand and lived there until moving to Marin last year.

He was a retired surveyor for the Franklin County council in New Zealand.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in San Anselmo and was a volunteer at the Marin Senior Day Care Center. He also was a ruling elder and lay preacher at the Bombay Presbyterian Church in New Zealand.

He is survived by two sons, Neville C. Donovan of San Rafael and George Donovan of Paeroa, New Zealand;a sister, Thelma Peace of Tauranga, New Zealand; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo. Burial will be at Bombay Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New Zealand. Memorial gifts preferred to the Marin Senior Day Care Center.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the husband of the late Gladys Donovan. Four grandchildren live in New Zealand and three – Neva, Trez and Dale – in California.
