MAURICE WELLS
Memorial service for Maurice Howard Wells of Novato, owner of Maury’s Restaurant in San Rafael, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Fellowship of Marin in San Rafael.
Wells, 55, died Friday in his car which he had parked in the family garage with the motor running and garage doors closed.
A native of California, he was reared in Oakland and had been in Marin 14 years. He resided at 1 McIntosh Court in Ignacio.
He was a World War II fighter pilot in China.
He spent many years working for various steel companies and was with Ducommun Steel Co. in Oakland before taking over the restaurant on Redwood Highway about two years ago.
Survivors are his wife, Yvonne Wells; three daughters, Pamela Baldwin of Del Mar, San Diego County, Cheri Wells of Solana Beach, San Diego County, and Patricia Wells of Houston, Tex; his sister, Maureen Hardisty of Montevideo, Uruguay, and his stepmother, Rose Wells of Hayward.
The family has asked that memorial gifts go to the Marindale School or to the donor’s favorite charity.
